Lazio attacking midfielder Felipe Anderson is edging ever closer to sealing a move to Premier League club West Ham United.

The Brazilian had been one of the Hammers’ key transfer targets until Lazio’s €40 million demands appeared to have cooled their interest.

Despite the arrival of Andriy Yarmolenko from Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday, La Gazzetta dello Sport report that West Ham are ready to reignite their interest and will match Lazio’s valuation.

Anderson is set to pen a five-year contract at just over €3m per season, as part of a €40m deal, with West Ham due to pay a further €5m in performance-related bonuses.

The former Santos star is keen to make the switch after losing his place in his favoured playmaker role to Luis Alberto.

Indeed, the 25-year-old is due in London on Thursday to undergo a medical and said his goodbyes to his Biancoceleste teammates before departing the club on Wednesday afternoon.

Anderson came close to a Premier League switch in 2015, as Manchester United pushed for a €50m deal but were rebuffed by Lazio president Claudio Lotito.
