Inter midfielder Joao Mario could yet leave the club this summer, with Turkish side Besiktas the latest to show an interest in the out of favour Portuguese.

After an unspectacular loan spell with Premier League club West Ham United last term, the 25-year-old returned to Milan where coach Luciano Spalletti does not appear to have him in his plans.

However, with it looking that Joao Mario would have to wait it out in the Nerazzurri shadows, La Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting that Besiktas could now make a move for the ex-Sporting Clube man, with their transfer window still open.

Although the Portugal international had attracted interest from Spanish duo Sevilla and Real Betis, and Rubin Kazan of Russia, the Istanbul side’s approach has reportedly been sparked by international teammate Pepe.

After paying out around €40 million to bring him to Serie A, Inter will now wait to see whether the Turkish interest will be backed up with a firm offer.
