Massimiliano Allegri’s preparations for Juventus’ next game against Lazio include a detailed analysis of their attack as he bids to maximise the potential of Cristiano Ronaldo.

During the reigning champions’ opening Serie A game, their marquee signing had four shots on goal, with two coming in the opening hour and two in the final half hour when he was moved to a wide left role to accommodate Mario Mandzukic.

For the weekend visit of Lazio to Turin, Allegri is now seriously considering whether or not to keep faith with the 4-2-3-1 that was used in Verona, start Mandzukic alongside the former Real Madrid man or utilise a front three in attack.

The main objective no matter what Allegri opts to do, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, is simply to play the system which will get the most out of Ronaldo and supply him with the most chances in order to maximise their chances of goals.

Although the man in charge said after the game at the Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi that he was hesitant to make any sweeping changes to soon, there is a concern over the balance of the side in the final third.

However, much could simply depend on the physical condition of Mandzukic and the part that he can play, having only resumed full training 10 days ago.
