Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic is a step away from renewing his contract with the Bianconeri following strong interest from Premier League clubs this summer.

The 28 year-old has developed into a key player for the current Serie A champions following his move from Roma in 2016, making 92 appearances for Juventus.

Sky Sport Italia understands the Bosnian Herzegovina international will sign new and improved terms with Juventus after coming to a verbal agreement in recent days.

Maurizio Sarri was keen to bring Pjanic to Chelsea as part of his move to Stamford Bridge, but the Old Lady were able to fend off all potential suitors.

Pjanic has contributed just under 30 assists during his time in Turin and scored on 15 goals, proving a real menace from dead ball situations.

The deal will reportedly see the former Olympique Lyon midfielder earn €6.5 million under the new terms of his contract, which is expected to last until 2023.
