With Serie A back this weekend, Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri believes Cristiano Ronaldo will get his first Serie A goal against Sassuolo on Sunday and thinks he has been the world’s best player in 2018.

The 33-year-old has yet to find the net since his summer move from Real Madrid, despite having had more than 20 attempts across the first games of the season.

However, the Italian coach is confident he will find it at the Allianz Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

“Cristiano worked well and I think Sunday could be his day,” Allegri told the assembled media at Saturday’s press conference.

“I did not expect neither more nor less of what he has already done in the first three games.”

In addition to that, the Tuscan tactician also believes the Portuguese deserves to win The Best FIFA Men’s Player 2018.

“Personally, I would give the prize to Ronaldo for what he did last year,” he added. “Without taking anything away from Luka Modric, but I believe he deserves it.”

The winner will be revealed on September 24 and the Juventus striker is shortlisted alongside with Real Madrid’s Modric and Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah.
