AC Milan coach Gennaro Gattuso has reacted angrily to suggestions that they are not taking their Europa League match with Luxembourg minnows Dudelange seriously on Thursday night.

The 40-year-old is expected to make widespread changes to his starting line-up as the Rossoneri begin their European campaign, but does not see the fixture as forgone conclusion and they have done their homework on the opposition.

“Do you think we are here on a trip?” Gattuso asked the press conference. “We are playing in Europe and wear the glorious shirt of Milan. We are prepared.

“What do you think we are doing at Milanello, playing with dolls? We’ve seen the videos, they’re an organised team that deserves to be here.”

Milan had a relatively easy path to the top of their Europa League group last season, however, the former midfielder insisted that his players will not become complacent.

“We have to be very careful, we have more quality, but the game starts at 0-0,” stated Gattuso. “Concentration is so important when you play against a smaller team, as you have everything to lose.”
