Mauro Icardi is expected to be left on the bench by coach Luciano Spalletti for their match against Parma on Saturday.
The Argentine started for his national team in their 0-0 draw with Colombia on Tuesday, and he isn’t expected to return to Milan until Friday.
With their opening Champions League match against Tottenham on the horizon, which the football betting markets have the maych as too close to call, Spalletti is expected to rest Icardi for Saturday’s Serie A battle with Parma.
Keita Balde is the favourite to replace him, as Lautaro Martinez is dealing with a calf problem and isn’t likely to feature. Matteo Politano, Radja Nainggolan and Ivan Perisic will feature in behind the Senegal international.
Sime Vrsaljko is also likely to miss out on Saturday’s match due to a knee problem picked up while on international duty with Croatia.
