As he continues waiting for his first international cap despite years of consistent performances in Serie A, Napoli midfielder Allan has confessed that he is surprised that Brazil have yet to cll him.
The 27-year-old was a prominent player at the heart of Udinese’s midfield, which earned him a move to the Stadio San Paolo in 2015 and he has since gone from strength to strength there.
However, in spite of those displays, he has not yet been called upon by his country, who he last represented as an Under-20 international, although he remains happy with his career due to how he has fitted in at Napoli.
“Why have I not been called up by the national team? That’s a hard question to answer. I don’t know why they haven’t called me,” he told reporters at Castel Volturno.
“I also wonder what I’m missing if I’m not part of the national team. I will try to do even more than I have been doing in order to be considered for the next squad.
“I’ve been at this club though for three years and myself and my family are very happy. I don’t even think about leaving, I’ve renewed recently and I hope to have many more years here because I’m very happy.”
