Napoli left-back Faouzi Ghoulam took part in training for the first time since suffering a double knee injury, while Amin Younes and Alex Meret continue their rehabilitation.

The Algerian defender has been out of action since November after first rupturing his cruciate ligament followed by sustaining a broken kneecap, both of which required surgery.

With Ghoulam returning to training coach Carlo Ancelotti can look to include the 27-year-old in the team as early as October but will have to wait on Younes and Meret according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Younes is recovering from an Achilles tendon rupture which he sustained toward the end of his time with Ajax, with Napoli hopeful of having the German back by the end of November.

The return of Meret seems less certain as the former Udinese and SPAL goalkeeper having fractured his arm during pre-season, prompting the arrival of David Ospina from Arsenal.
