Napoli president and owner Aurelio De Laurentiis has reportedly accumulated outstanding payments regarding the Stadio San Paolo in the latest feud between the city of Naples and it’s football club.

This follows months of angry back and forth between the two sides as De Laurentiis described the San Paolo as “a toilet”, with the mayor of Napoli criticising De Laurentiis for not renovating the stadium himself.

Speaking to Radio Marte municipal councillor Diego Venanzoni revealed a severe rift with regard to the relationship between the two sides, to the extent Napoli could be evicted from the San Paolo for overdue payments.

Napoli have called the San Paolo their home since 1959 in which time the stadium has undergone numerous renovations, with more due to take place in the coming years.

However, should these reports hold truth then the situation regarding the San Paolo could escalate quite quickly, with some suggesting their Champions League tie against Liverpool could be at risk.
