After a resounding victory over high-flying Sassuolo on Sunday night, AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma is expecting the win to spark an improvement in the side’s fortunes.

The Rossoneri had been languishing in the lower reaches of Serie A ahead of the game with the Neroverdi, but goals from Franck Kessie, Samu Castillejo and a Suso double secured a 4-1 triumph.

“We were very good at managing [the match], but it was not easy, as Sassuolo is a good team and play well. Now we can enjoy the victory,” Donnarumma told Milan TV.

“There are moments during a game where you have to hold on, you have to fight together not to concede and we were also clinical in front of goal.

“The match against Sassuolo could be our turning point, we will continue working hard. Now there is the Europa League.”
