It has been a long time coming but Alex Meret could finally be in line to make his Napoli debut after the international break as the goalkeeper has returned to full training and is ready for selection.

Carlo Ancelotti has been forced to play both Orestis Karnezis and emergency signing David Ospina in the opening rounds as the ex-SPAL and Udinese goalkeeper recovered from an arm injury he sustained in July.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Meret is fit and ready to go into the squad for the trip to face his parent club in Udine on October 20, should he be called upon by Ancelotti.

The 21-year-old is on an initial loan deal at the Stadio San Paolo, which cost Napoli €12 million but will complete a permanent switch from the Zebrette this summer for an additional €22m.
