AC Milan could turn to Napoli midfielder Amadou Diawara as a replacement for the injured Lucas Biglia, having featured sparingly under former Rossoneri coach Carlo Ancelotti.

The 21-year-old is still considered one of the more promising young players in Italy, but has made just six league appearances so far and only played ninety minutes twice.

As a result Milan are hoping to make the most of the opportunity to lure Diawara to the Stadio San Siro on a six month loan deal in order to get playing time, according to CalcioNews24.

Milan had expressed an interest in purchasing Diawara before his move from Bologna to the Sicilian side and could try and negotiate terms to buy the Guinean in June.

Any move would need the approval of Carlo Ancelotti, who Milan sporting director Leonardo is hoping will sign off on the deal as a favour to his former club.

The Rossoneri are awaiting a response regarding FFP from UEFA before they can press on with negotiations, with Diawara a likely option should UEFA impose sanctions.
