Being one of the few players in the Inter squad with regular Champions League experience, Kwadwo Asamoah is hopeful that it can be something which he can utilise against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley.

The Nerazzurri are on the brink of securing their last 16 berth and simply avoiding defeat in London on Wednesday night will be enough to secure their place in the knockout phase.

Asamoah was part of the Juventus squad which eliminated Spurs from the competition last season and he admitted that being a part of such occasions puts some added responsibility on his shoulders.

“As far as I’m concerned, I do have a sense of responsibility because I’ve played here before and I know how a team like Tottenham play so I know about them I suppose,” he told reporters at Wembley.

“The team has developed a great deal since the first game against Tottenham as it was the first time a lot of my teammates played in this competition but now we have more confidence and are more at ease with playing in the Champions League.

“We are developing and getting better all the time.”

The Ghanaian, who conducted his press conference alongside Ivan Perisic, echoed the thoughts of the winger in insisting that the Nerazzurri are in London with one goal in mind: victory and qualification.

“We are here to win. We know it will not be easy and it will be tough against Spur with their fans behind them but our mentality is a winning one and we want to show that on the pitch,” he added.
