The ball is in AC Milan’s court if they hope to bring former striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic back to the club on a six-month deal when the winter transfer window opens.

Between 2010 and 2012, the Los Angeles Galaxy forward enjoyed two very successful years at the San Siro with the Rossoneri before departing to join Paris Saint-Germain, where he became the top scorer in club history.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Ibrahimovic wants to return to Milan once again and is now awaiting a call from Leonardo as he has his heart set on playing for the Rossoneri once more, despite having plenty of offers from other European clubs.

Despite scoring 22 goals for the Galaxy this season, the 37-year-old was unable to help lead his side into Major League Soccer’s playoffs and is now looking for a new challenge.

An agreement is also reportedly in place and it is speculated that money is not an issue for the Swede, who would earn €2 million for his six-month spell back in Serie A.

If he performed well enough during the latter half of the campaign, it could also potentially see Ibrahimovic earn another 12-month deal, with the striker now awaiting the next move from Leonardo.
