There were no goals at the Stadio San Siro, as AC Milan and Torino played out a dire 0-0 draw, leaving the Rossoneri waiting for their 150th Serie A win over the Granata.

Chances were few and far between for both teams, though Iago Falque went close, being denied by Gianluigi Donnarumma, while Patrick Cutrone should have grabbed all three points for Milan at the end.

The result leaves Torino still searching for their first win over Milan since 1985 in the competition, as a 22-match winless streak continues. However, the Granata remain undefeated away from home this season.

Milan missed the chance to open up a three point gap to Lazio, and thus only have a point advantage over the fifth-placed Biancocelesti.

Early on Donnarumma was called into action, making a miraculous reaction save to deny Iago Falque. The Argentine got himself free in the penalty area and met Cristian Ansaldi’s cross six yards out, but the Milan goalkeeper tipped his effort over the bar.

Torino looked the more dangerous of the two sides, with Kofi Djidji shooting wide from the edge of the penalty area. Then Tomas Rincon found Andrea Belotti in the area, but the striker put his volley well over the crossbar.

The first real opportunity for Milan came thanks to Suso, who played a brilliant ball into the box and if not for an Armando Izzo clearance, Hakan Calhanoglu was destined to score at the back post.

An excellent counter attack from Milan saw Gonzalo Higuain and Suso break, but with the Spaniard completely free on the right, the Rossoneri No.9 tried a shot from 18 yards which, predictably, was blocked, though the rebound did fall to Patrick Cutrone on the left who had his effort saved.

Just before the break, the ball fell to Belotti on the edge of the box, and the Italian tried his luck, but this time Cristian Zapata denied the Granata by deflecting the effort just wide.

A damp squib of a second half began in a similar fashion to the first, with Torino very much on top, but despite a few shots from distancem the Granata were unable to really test Donnarumma.

Ola Aina put a cross in for Iago Falque, who could only fire over, while at the other end Davide Calabria tried a low cross, which Samuel Castillejo got a touch to but couldn’t direct towards goal.

Castillejo was bright after coming on and almost set up Suso with a nice ball over the top, but he fired into the side-netting.

It should have been 1-0 to Milan at the death as the ball fell to Cutrone, eight-yards out, and unmarked, one-on-one with Salvatore Sirigu, he scuffed his shit wide of goal, much to the ire of the San Siro crowd.
