Having experienced the Anfield atmosphere as Liverpool player, Cagliari defender Ragnar Klavan has said there is little difference between the Isolani’s Sardegna Arena and the iconic football stadium of the Reds.

The 33-year-old joined from the English giants for a reported figure of €2.2 million in the summer of 2018 and he believes that the passionate support of the Sardinian supporters contributed to the club making a comeback in the 2-2 draw against Roma in round 15.

“Surely in numbers [there is a difference], since the two structures have different capacities, but otherwise the fans are the same because they want their team to fight,” Klavan told Corriere dello Sport.

“If you commit yourself and look for a positive result, it is like they are on the field to give you a hand. They were fundamental against Roma.”

Klavan has only played nine Serie A games so far this season but he has featured the last three league games for Cagliari after recovering from an Achilles Tendon injury and he is confident of returning to his best.

“I think it will take a while but I do not seem to be very far from being one hundred per cent,” he concluded.
