Mauro Icardi is poised to accept a contract renewal offer from Inter that would see him stay at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza until 2023.

The Argentinian forward has been linked with a number of other clubs over the last few months, but looks set to extend his stay with the Nerazzurri.

Icardi’s wife Wanda Nara revealed on Twitter that Inter have offered the former Sampdoria forward a deal that is thought to be worth around 7 million per season, should he commit to the club.

That figure would represent an increase of around 33 percent on his current wage, and might be enough to tempt him to stay at the club.

Having left Barcelona’s Academy to join the Blucerchiati, Icardi has been with the Milanese side since leaving Sampdoria in 2013, and has recently pushed his way into the list of Top 10 goalscorers for the Nerazzurri.

While Meazza’s massive total may remain out of reach, Icardi is currently just three strikes behind Christian Vieri with Istvan Nyers a further five ahead.
