Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly is at the centre of a tug-of-war between Europe’s top clubs, including Manchester United, Barcelona and Chelsea.

Koulibaly was recently racially abused by Inter fans during the Partenopei’s visit to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, and was also sent off in the match for sarcastically applauding the referee after being booked for a foul.

Now, according to La Gazzetta della Sport, Manchester United are ready to break the bank to bring the Senegalese centre-back to Old Trafford, and Barcelona are also closely monitoring the situation.

Chelsea did attempt to take the 27-year-old to Stamford Bridge in the summer along with ex-teammate Jorginho and coach Maurizio Sarri, but were rebuffed by Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis, though remain interested.

It is thought that a fee of €120 million will be enough to persuade De Laurentiis to open discussions, but only looking to the summer window, as no one will leave the Stadio San Paolo in January.
