After dealing with speculation about his future at AC Milan and criticism of his form, Rossoneri goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma admitted to having a difficult year but he has felt relaxed recently.

The 19-year-old Italian international was praised for his performance in the Diavolo’s 0-0 draw against Torino in Serie A on Sunday evening and the starlet is convinced that he can avoid playing erratically.

“I thank you for the compliments, I always try to give my best in training and then also in the game and to help my teammates,” Donnarumma told RAI Sport.

“Surely it was a bit complicated, even if you are strong in character you always think a little, now I’m much more peaceful.”

Donnarumma made a couple of decisive saves in the first half to keep Milan in the game but he praised his teammates for defending more solidly after the break.

“I think we did very well except on two occasions when we lost our men a little bit, then we did better in the second half,” he concluded.
