Sampdoria are hopeful of signing Roma forward Patrik Schick on loan in the January transfer window, having only left the Blucerchiati in the summer of 2017.

The Czech international has scored just four goals in 40 appearances for the Giallorossi, although many of games for Roma have been when he’s come on as a substitute.

However a return to Sampdoria could be on the horizon, with La Gazzetta dello Sport claiming the 22-year-old could even be sold in January despite their heavy investment.

An initial loan deal followed by a buyout clause saw Schick join Roma for approximately €20 million, with Sampdoria entitled to a percentage of any fee should Roma sell him.

A temporary loan deal would suit Roma, with Schick able to recapture the form of his early years in Serie A and still be retained in the event of injuries.

Schick scored 13 goals in 35 appearances for Sampdoria and was close to joining Juventus before the deal broke down.
