Former Atletico Madrid striker Fernando Torres believes it’s Juventus that should be scared of facing the Spanish side in the Champions League, not the other way around.
The two giants of European football will square in the Round of 16 once the competition returns in February, with many expecting a tight contest between the teams.
Juventus are seen by many as favourites to move on, but Torres – who played for Atletico from 2000 to 2007 and then 2015 to 2018 – doesn’t think the Bianconeri hold the advantage.
“What scares me about Juventus? Nothing,” the Sagan Tosu striker told the assembled press at an event in Spain as reported by ITA Sport Press. “I never fear anything or anyone.
“If Atletico play like they usually do and keep the same mentality they have in the Champions League, it’s the Bianconeri that should fear them.”
Torres has netted four goals in 19 appearances since joining Japanese side Sagan Tosu in July.
