After a long afternoon of meetings and phone calls, AC Milan and Genoa have come to an agreement over the transfer of Krzysztof Piatek.

Genoa director general Giorgio Perinetti, along with director Alessandro Zarbano spent Tuesday locked in talks with AC Milan president Paolo Scaroni and sporting director Leonardo.

The two clubs have now agreed a €35 million fee for the Polish striker, to be paid in one instalment, with no players included in the deal.

Piatek will sign a five-year deal with the Rossoneri and is expected to earn around €2m a year in wages.

Upon exiting Casa Milan, Scaroni told reporters: “It is not up in the air, so we are happy with that. We’re getting there.”

As a result, Gonzalo Higuain will complete his move to Chelsea, and thus allow Alvaro Morata to move from the Blues to Atletico Madrid.
