Medhi Benatia has asked Juventus to allow him to depart from Turin this January, as the defender is desperate to secure more regular playing time.

AC Milan have expressed an interest in the Moroccan and he would become a key player at the Stadio San Siro.

However, La Stampa have reported that the Old Lady are reluctant to let him leave in January, as they would face a difficult task in replacing him during the winter window.

Despite asking to leave, the relationship between the player and the club remains positive.

Benatia joined Juventus from Bayern Munich in 2016, having previously played for Roma and Udinese in Serie A.

Since joining the Bianconeri, the defender has made 59 appearances, scoring five goals.

He has been handed just five games by coach Massimiliano Allegri this season.
