After arriving at Inter on loan from Southampton for the remainder of the campaign, defender Cedric Soares highlighted the differences between Serie A and the Premier League, believing the former possesses greater quality.

On Tuesday, he was unveiled as a Nerazzurri player for the first time after sealing his switch from the Saints to add much-needed defensive cover for Luciano Spalletti.

Inter had been keen on the Portugal international in the past but after sealing his San Siro move at last, Cedric discussed what challenges he will face in his new surroundings.

“What differences do I see between England and Italy? There is no doubt, no doubt about it. In England, you play with great speed and intensity,” he told reporters.

“But here, I see quality. The players tend to manage possession well before attacking. Inter play great football and I appreciate their way of doing things. I’ve already watched my teammates in training and they made a good impression.”

Inter do have a right to purchase the 27-year-old on a permanent transfer at the end of the campaign should they wish to do so, but Cedric isn’t getting too carried away about what may happen in June.

“I’m not really thinking about what I have to do [to seal a permanent move] and I think that I simply have to show what I can do on the field,” he explained.

“I know who I am and what I’m capable of doing. I believe in myself and the goals that I intend to achieve so we will see what happens.”
