Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella is set for a move to Chelsea, with reports in England claiming that a deal has almost been agreed between the clubs.

Over the course of recent seasons, the 21-year-old has established himself as one of the breakout talents in Serie A and has also been capped by Italy under Roberto Mancini, which has understandably led to interest in his signature.

According to Sky Sports News, Chelsea are on the verge of securing the services of Barella and have almost finalised a deal with the Isolani to bring him to Stamford Bridge.

Maurizio Sarri already brought one midfield star from Italy to London with him last summer when he acquired Jorginho from Napoli and is also set to sign former Roma man Leandro Paredes to fill the midfield void vacated by Cesc Fabregas.

It is believed that the fee for Barella, whose contract in Sardinia runs until the summer of 2022, will set Chelsea back €50 million.

The midfielder has started all but one of Cagliari’s 19 games in Serie A this season.
