Chelsea full-back Davide Zappacosta could be in line for a return to Italy, with Lazio keen to land the Italian international.
The former Torino man has found playing time hard to come by this season under Maurizio Sarri, as he has been limited to just two Premier League appearances – both as substitutes.
As a result, Calcionews24.com reports Zappacosta has asked Chelsea to leave the club in order to secure regular playing time – with Lazio emerging as the most likely destination.
Biancocelesti boss Simone Inzaghi is said to be a big fan of the attacking full-back, and it’s believed an offer will be made in the coming days.
Lazio President Claudio Lotito will likely ask for Zappacosta on loan with an option to make the move permanent should he impress at the Stadio Olimpico.
Zappacosta joined Chelsea for €28 million plus bonuses while under the leadership of Antonio Conte in 2017. He went on to make 22 league appearances during his first season in England.
