Following the announcement of Krzysztof Piatek’s acquisition, AC Milan will face second-placed Napoli at Stadio San Siro on Saturday night.

Naturally, Diavolo fans around the world will spend their evening hoping for a positive result and it is not surprising that in Dublin, too, the AC Milan Club Dublin will organise a night for this important match.

“The club was born in 2014 after the Milan defeat against Sassuolo, following coach Massimiliano Allegri’s dismissal,” club founder Fabio Parente said.

“The aim was to create a group of Milanisti fans in Ireland and to enjoy watching our team together.

“We meet at Woolshed Baa and Grill, a historic Irish sports pub. The club is frequented not only by many Italians but also by many Irish who are really passionate about the club and who grew up with Arrigo Sacchi’s football.

“The love for Milan brings us together. For instance, Mike and Colin are also involved in our management committee. Plus, we still are in contact with other Milan clubs all over the world like the ones in Montreal, New York, Philadelphia and Nottingham.”

The supporters club, who joined Associazione Italiana Milan Club almost three years ago, gave birth to strong bonds of friendship between its current 100 members and during these last years had the chance to organise extra activities.

“Once a year, we join a charity five-a-side football tournament with other Dublin’s supporters clubs,” Fabio added. “While during this season, we also attended some away games in Europe and at the San Siro too.

“On March 9, 2019, during the match against Chievo, the club will celebrate five years and for the occasion, Casa Milan already confirmed that the 2007 Champions League cup will arrive in Dublin.

“We are looking forward to it and just hope that one old Milan champion will come to celebrate this special event with us. It would be a positive sign from the club to all the supporters like us that have always made sacrifices to follow their passion.”

Some of the Dublin-based Rossoneri members will attend the San Siro showdown against the Partenopei on Saturday evening.

“Many of us will be at the stadium for the weekend’s game. It will be tough as Napoli have a great coach and it is an experienced team, but never say never.

“Our aim is the fourth place this year and so back competitive in the Champions League.”

AC Milan Club Dublin are hosted by Woolshed Baa and Grill in Parnell Street and can be reached via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
