AC Milan midfielder Andrea Bertolacci could end his stay with the Rossoneri in January, as former club Genoa are keen to welcome him back to the fold.
The 27-year-old has never hit the heights the Rossoneri had hoped for since joining from Roma for €20 million in June 2015.
An exit will come in the summer when Bertolacci’s contract expires, but La Gazzetta dello Sport reports Milan are considering letting the midfielder go as soon as January.
Genoa are keen to bring him back into the fold in hopes that he may recapture the form that made him such a hot commodity during his last stay with the Grifone.
While a summer move appears the most likely option, the Rossoblu are still holding out hope that a deal can be worked out before the end of the month.
Bertolacci netted 12 goals in 90 appearances for Genoa from 2012 to 2015, a stark departure from the measly two goals he has produced in 54 appearances for Milan since his 2015 switch.
