The transfer triangle involving Gonzalo Higuain, Alvaro Morata and Krzysztof Piatek is set to start moving with the Argentine’s arrival at Chelsea, which is expected to become official on Wednesday.

El Pipita arrived in London on Wednesday morning to undergo his medical and put pen to paper on his contract.

A deal has been reached for the striker to end his loan at AC Milan and move to Chelsea from Juventus on an initial six-month loan, with the Blues having the ability to extend it.

The clauses in Higuain’s contract make it hard for the move to avoid becoming permanent, and Roman Abramovich will more than likely end up paying 36 million euros for the Argentine.

Chelsea will have to sign the player outright in any of the following scenarios: they finish third and the No.9 scores at least one goal; if Higuain scores 15 Premier League goals; or if they win the Europa League and he scores five.

The player’s salary demands will also be respected by Chelsea, seeing him earn over eight million euros a year.

Confirmation of the deal will spark a domino effect and Piatek will then finalise his move from Genoa to AC Milan, as will Alvaro Morata to Atletico Madrid, with the former moving to the San Siro for 35 million euros until 2023.

Morata will also have his wishes granted and will be allowed to leave Stamford Bridge on loan.
