Chelsea defender Emerson Palmieri has been linked with a return to Italy as Juventus look to bully the Blues into including him as part of a deal that would see Gonzalo Higuain join Chelsea.

The Argentine striker is expected to complete his medical in London on Friday ahead of his proposed move, having spent the first half of the season on loan at AC Milan.

Tuttosport understands the Bianconeri are looking to make the most of the operation and convince Chelsea to part company with former Roma defender Emerson.

Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri is keen to solidify the position at left-back with the long-term injury of Leonardo Spinazzola leaving him with no clear alternative to Alex Sandro.

The operation could see Higuain and Emerson swap sides on loan with no up-front payments, or any deal for the Italian international could be factored into the purchase agreement for Pipita.

Emerson began his career with Santos before joining first Palermo then Roma, making a €20 million move to Chelsea this time last year.
