Genoa defender Cristian Romero is nearing a summer switch to Juventus in a move that will also see Stefano Sturaro move in the other direction.

Although the Grifoni only swooped to sign the Argentine last summer for a fee of €1.7 million from Belgrano, club president Enrico Preziosi is keen to cash in on him as quickly as possible.

As a result, the Bianconeri are sign him in July for a fee between €10m and €15m in addition to the services of Sturaro, who previously represented the Rossoblu after emerging through their academy before leaving for Juventus in 2014.

However, the 25-year-old has found his options to be limited in Turin and is currently on loan at Sporting CP in Portugal and has been inserted into the deal to give the Old Lady a slight discount on their 20-year-old defensive target.

Romero is currently valued between €20m and €25m by Genoa, and given that there is no urgency between the clubs to complete a deal in January, it is set to be finalised in the summer ahead of next season.

Juventus are fans of the player for both the maturity he has displayed for someone so young and his vast potential, with the Bianconeri believing that there is great room for improvement with the Argentine.
