New AC Milan striker Krzysztof Piatek admits he expected his Rossoneri debut to be memorable after making an immediate impact against Napoli.

The Polish striker netted two spectacular strikes to help Milan through to the Coppa Italia semi-finals with a 2-0 victory over Napoli on Tuesday night.

Piatek looked comfortable despite only joining the Rossoneri last week, and he stated there is more to come.

“I expected a night like this,” he told Milan TV after the match. “I said that I was ready and I scored a brace. It’s only the beginning.

“Both goals were great but different. Before the match I spoke with [Diego] Laxalt and [Fabio] Borini and I asked them to play some long balls because I prefer them.

“I had [Kalidou] Koulibaly in front of me for the second goal, but things went well. Today was great, but I am already thinking about Roma.”

Despite the memorable debut, Piatek was quick to downplay suggestions he’s already become a Milan star.

“We’ll see,” he stated. “I just want to score goals. Like I said, I feel good and i am ready.

“I hope that against Roma I do even better. I want to score with the help of my teammates.”
