Cedric Soares is set to join Inter on loan from Southampton, with a medical scheduled for Friday.
The Nerazzurri are in the market for a new full-back as Sime Vrsaljko and Danilo D’Ambrosio have so far failed to cement themselves on the right flank.
Recent rumours had suggested Inter were keen to land Matteo Darmian from Manchester United, but Sky Sport Italia reports they have quickly moved to secure a deal for Cedric.
The 27-year-old will join on an initial loan for €500,000 with the Nerazzurri holding an option to make the move permanent for €11m in the summer.
It’s unsure what the move means for the future of Vrsaljko, who joined Inter in a similar deal last summer, but could be sent back to Atletico Madrid due to his injury problems.
Cedric has hade 22 appearances in all competitions for Southampton this season. A recent calf injury has seen him fall behind youngster Yan Valery in the pecking order.
