With rumours that Aaron Ramsey is set to join Juventus, his former Arsenal teammate Emiliano Viviano feels he would be a great signing for the Bianconeri, while also being another sign of Juve’s increasing international stature.

Juventus have reportedly offered a salary of €6.5 million a season, plus bonuses to the Arsenal man, who looks likely to make the move to Serie A.

“He would be a great signing,” Viviano told La Gazzetta della Sport. “It’s hard to take British players from the Premier League, plus Ramsey is a symbol of Arsenal.

“The fact he is even tempted is testament to the greatness of Juventus. Cristiano Ronaldo has given them a remarkable international dimension, which will attract other champions.”

When asked as to the kind of player Ramsey is, Viviano feels he will be a brilliant addition to Juve, perfectly suiting Allegri’s style.

“The British call him box-to-box,” Viviano went on. “He can play in a number of roles. He is perfect for Allegri.

“He has great physical strength, combined with good technique. He can play in front of the defence, as a central midfielder, or as a trequartista.

“He is a complete player, with an eye for goal. And thanks to him we [Arsenal] won an FA Cup.

“On the field he is fierce, but in the dressing room he is shy. He lives for football, and the only distraction he has is golf. With Walcott and Chamberlain he played a lot.”
