Lazio have learnt lessons from their recent Serie A defeat to Atalanta ahead of the pair meeting in Wednesday night’s Coppa Italia final.
The two sides met at the Stadio Olimpico recently and, despite taking a 1-0 lead early on, the Aquile fell 3-1 to La Dea, but Senad Lulic is confident that they are ready to deliver a better performance when they do battle again, once more at the Stadio Olimpico.
“We analysed the Serie A defeat and saw where we went wrong,” he said at his pre Coppa Italia final press conference on Tuesday.
“Tomorrow will be a different game. Mentality and physicality will be needed. We’ll also run like Atalanta will.
“Tomorrow you’ll see who has the most desire to win this game. We’re ready, we had a good game at Cagliari, although it wasn’t perfect.”
Lulic continued, explaining that another step up will be needed in order to see off the Bergamaschi, and that Lazio need someone to be their hero.
“To beat Atalanta, you need more than that,” he said, “We’ve worked well, we’re ready to go.
“I hope someone will become an icon tomorrow.
“To win the game, someone must score. We just need to win.”
