Genoa owner Enrico Preziosi has officially put the Grifone up for sale.
The news only adds to the complicated nature of the Rossoblu’s end of season, as they sit just one point above the relegation spot with two matches remaining.
“Genoa Cricket and Football Club S.p.A. announces that a mandate has been given to Assietta S.p.A., a financial consultancy company, specialising in corporate finance, as an advisor for the sale of the club,” read a statement on the club’s official website.
“To support the sale process, the advisor will also be supported by someone with an international profile.”
Preziosi hasn’t hidden his desire to sell the club in the past, and this latest step looks set to end his 16-year ownership of the Grifone.
