Last season Parma made their return back to Serie A after fighting their way through the fourth, third and second tier of Italian football in recent years.

Nevertheless, the Gialloblu had a decent season last year as they had a good transfer market with big signings such as Gervinho and Roberto Inglese and surprised everyone with a motivated and tactical team.

Parma are now determined to go back to where they once were and plan on competing on a higher and more consistent level now. With signings like the Brazilian Hernani from Zenit St. Petersburg and promising youngster Yann Karamoh from Inter, along with many other rising superstars, they may plan on securing a spot in the Europa League.

If Parma can end the transfer window on a high, we can definitely expect to see great things from this side this season and they will most likely be one of the more exciting teams to watch in the Serie A.

Summer Dealings – 7/10

Parma axed a total of nine players throughout this transfer-market but as of now signed a total of 12 young and promising players such as Dejan Kulusevski and Yann Karamoh.

Furthermore, Hernani from Zenit and Gaston Brugman from Pescara can give them that extra experience to be successful this season. Nonetheless, Radu, Barrow and Laxalt are also rumoured to join by the end of the transfer-market and if that happens, Parma can consider themselves to have done an outstanding job this summer.

Key Man – Bruno Alves

The key man for this team is no doubt, Bruno Alves, who has shown he is the true leader, captain and soul of this team. Despite him being 37 years of age, he is the man with the skills and experience to keep this team going.

One to watch – Yann Karamoh

Karamoh is expected to breakout this year as he is going to be fighting for a spot in the starting line-up. The Frenchman scored some great goals with Caen and Bordeaux in Ligue 1. Now at 21 years of age, he is ready to make a name for himself.

The Coach – Roberto D’Aversa

Roberto D’Aversa has been Parma’s head coach since 2016 and though he might have had some ups and downs, he is the man who brought this team back to Serie A and the one to still coach this team. He stands his ground and knows exactly what the project this club has in mind to be successful.

Prediction – 10th

There is no doubt that this year Parma will be more competitive than the last and will definitely have a Europa League spot in mind by the end of the season. But it won’t be that easy for them as this season will be much more competitive then recent years.
