STADIO ARTEMIO FRANCHI (Florence) – Maurizio Sarri was happy with how Juventus showed character in coming out of the Franchi with a point against Fiorentina, but admitted his side struggled.

The Bianconeri had just eight shots on goal over the 90 minutes, and Sarri blamed the three injuries as a crucial part of Juventus’ problems.

“A team with less personality would have lost this game,” Sarri told the press after the game.

“We struggled in this game, and we lacked physical sharpness.

“Not being able to make the substitutions I wanted was a big drawback for us.

“We worked hard in the international break, so will need more time to reach the physical level we want.

“We could have been more clinical, but it would have been unfair to win this game, we wouldn’t have deserved it.”

The hosts created chances and gave Juventus a very difficult afternoon, and Sarri the reasons were not only the Viola being proactive, but also the injuries, the temperature and the pitch.

“Fiorentina put us under a lot of pressure, they gave us a tough time,” Sarri admitted.

“Today’s pitch and temperature were different from those of Turin when we beat Napoli, it was much hotter today, with much drier grass.

“Douglas Costa could be out for a few games, whereas Pjanic just got a knock but will be a doubt for the Champions League game against Atletico Madrid.

Danilo just had cramp and should be fine for our next game.”
