Italy striker Andrea Belotti has spoken of how difficult Friday evening’s European Championship qualifying win over Bosnia and Herzegovina was despite the comfortable 3-0 scoreline.

The Azzurri, who top their qualifying group, made it nine wins from nine with the victory and are now one of the favourites for EURO 2020 when it kicks off next summer.

Belotti scored Italy’s third goal of the evening continuing his good run of form for the national team where he has scored three goals in his last two appearances.

“The road is still very long and the more goals i make the better for the team as well as for me,” said Belotti in an interview with Sky Sport Italia. “Coming here and playing a great game was not easy.”

“We knew we would face a difficult challenge because anyone who faces Italy wants to do their best.We approached them well and we have collected the fruits of our labour with a good performance.”

Roberto Mancini’s side will now face Armenia in Palermo on Monday evening in what will be their final game of the qualifying campaign. Mancini will be hoping for another victory to finish the campaign on a high and with his sides 100 percent record intact.
