Atalanta’s Marten de Roon believes that Atalanta have proven that they’re worthy of their place in the Champions League after they beat Dinamo Zagreb 2-0 on Tuesday.
Having lost each of their first three games in the competition, including a 4-0 hammering in Zagreb in their opening game in September.
But La Dea still have a chance of reaching the knockout rounds after drawing with Manchester City last time out and going on to beat Dinamo.
“After the first three matches we looked like a bit of a joke in the Champions League,” De Roon told UEFA.com after the game.
“But after tonight we showed we’re at this level.”
Atalanta now travel to Shakhtar Donetsk in the final group game needing a win and for Manchester City to avoid defeat against Dinamo in order to progress.
