New Fiorentina coach Giuseppe Iachini has said that he does have a magic wand and believes that his team will climb up the Serie A table through hard work.

The 55-year-old has replaced Vincenzo Montella as the Gigliati coach and he has a simple philosophy to help the team avoid relegation after they have collected just 17 points from just as many games.

“I don’t have a magic wand, I only believe in one thing, that is work,” Iachini said in his first press conference.

“The results come only through this.

“I don’t sell smoke, I am concrete. We want to get as many points as possible one game after another.

“If we achieve survival we won’t stop and we will try to do our best to always reach positions more appropriate to the history of Fiorentina.”

Iachini played for Fiorentina from 1989 until 1994 and featured in their run to the 1990 UEFA Cup Final but didn’t play in the two-legged final.
