Hertha Berlin and former AC Milan forward Krzysztof Piatek has hit out at his former side, claiming “they change striker every year.”
The 24-year-old, who failed to replicate the form of his first season in Italian football, was shipped out to the German club for a fee of €27 million,
Fresh from his first outing with the Bundesliga outfit Piatek commented on the quick turnaround of centre-forwards at Milan in an interview with Bild.
“This happens in Milan, the strikers change every year, so it’s probably a habit with them,” the Pole declared.
Milan go into the remaining games of the season short on striking options with Zlatan Ibrahimovic the only recognised centre-forward in the first team squad.
Piatek scored 16 goals in 41 appearances for Milan with just five coming in the current campaign, fuelling superstition around the cursed no. 9 jersey.
Andre Silva and Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain are among the more recent players to have donned the famous jersey and come up short for Milan.
