Davide Zappacosta will remain in Serie A for the upcoming season as the Chelsea full-back will join Genoa on loan.
The 28-year-old spent last season on loan at Roma, however he was limited to just nine appearances after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury during training in October 2019.
With his options limited at Chelsea, Sky Sport Italia reports Zappacosta will join Genoa on a loan that does not include an option to make the move permanent.
It’s believed the full-back will be in Liguria as early as Friday for a medical.
Chelsea signed Zappacosta from Torino for €25 million from Torino in 2017, but since then he’s only managed to make 52 appearances in all competitions.
