Former Hellas Verona and Italy midfielder Antonio Di Gennaro has praised Juventus after their victory against Dynamo Kyiv in the Champions League but criticised Inter’s inability to tighten the defence.

The Bianconeri defeated the Ukrainian giants 2-0 on Tuesday evening thanks to an Alvaro Morata double but the Nerazzurri drew 2-2 at home to German side Borussia Moenchengladbach.

Di Gennaro praised decisions made by new La Vecchia Signora coach Andrea Pirlo, who has managed to utilise the Morata properly and been able to accommodate both Juan Cuadrado and Federico Chiesa in the starting line-up.

“Juventus, putting the opponent aside, had put Cuadrado back on the right and put Chiesa on the left,” Di Gennaro told TuttoMercatoWeb.

“Morata can be utilised well when the moment comes to use a trident attack with CR7 and Paulo Dybala. The third choice behind Edin Dzeko and Luis Suarez in the transfer window is bearing fruit.

“About Inter, I say that this team cannot concede two goals per game. There are many games like this and they must find a remedy.”
