Ruslan Malinovskyi is a doubt for Atalanta as they prepare for their Champions League match against Danish club Midtjylland.
La Dea will be playing against the Ulvene on Wednesday evening in their opening Group D fixture for 2020/21, but the Ukrainian midfielder has been feeling unwell recently.
According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Malinovskyi is suffering from abdominal pain caused by an old scar and is training away from the rest of the group.
The 27-year-old will be evaluated again on Tuesday to see if he will be fit enough to make the trip to Denmark, as La Dea prepare for their European campaign.
Atalanta have also been drawn alongside English champions Liverpool and Dutch outfit Ajax in their Champions League group.
Malinovskyi has played in all four of La Dea’s Serie A matches so far this season and provided an assist.
Atalanta had won their first three Italian league matches of the 2020/21 season but they suffered a 4-1 defeat against Napoli on Saturday afternoon.
