Juventus midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur knows the importance of the three points picked up against Ferencvaros in Tuesday evening’s Champions League game in Turin.

It took a late Alvaro Morata strike for the Italian champions to seal the win after an uninspiring performance.

“We knew we had to take the three points by any means,” Bentancur told JTV. “We didn’t have a great game, but the important thing was to win and to qualify.

“In Serie A and in the Champions League, the matches are all difficult.

“The game tonight [Tuesday] was slow, but the important thing was to win.”

Juventus sit second behind Barcelona after losing to the Catalans in Turin, but they haven’t given up on top spot yet.

“There are two games left and we want to do the best we can,” Bentancur added.

“Tomorrow [Wednesday] we’ll rest and then we’ll start thinking about Benevento.”
