Antonio Candreva has been selected by Sampdoria coach Claudio Ranieri for their match against Crotone on Saturday evening.

The 33-year-old had been dropped for Il Doria’s 2-1 victory away to Hellas Verona on Wednesday night after the veteran tactician had apparently been disappointed with the way the former Inter winger was training and his attitude during a team meeting.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Candreva had a meeting with Sampdoria sporting director Carlo Osti as well as Ranieri and he apologised for his actions to the coach and also to his teammates.

It has also been reported that Blucerchiati president Massimo Ferrero also contacted the winger and persuaded him to apologise.

Candreva moved from Inter in September after four seasons with the Nerazzurri, joining the Ligurian side on loan with an obligation to be bought outright.

He has played nine Serie A matches so far in the 2020/21 season, scoring once and providing three assists.
