Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli has said that he wants Franck Ribery to be a greater reference point on the pitch for the Gigliati.

The Viola face Hellas Verona on Saturday afternoon in Serie A and the tactician wants to see the French veteran create a greater influence on the pitch.

“We have to make him more of a leader in a way in which gives us greater numerical superiority,” Prandelli said in his press conference.

“He does not have to solve problems alone but he has to be our point of reference.”

Serbian starlet Dusan Vlahovic starred alongside Ribery and scored the penalty in the 1-1 draw against Sassuolo on Wednesday evening and Prandelli prefers to utilise him over Patrick Cutrone and Christian Kouame.

“From a working point of view, I cannot fault Cutrone and Kouame for anything, but I think that Vlahovic has the right characteristics for how I interpret the role of a striker at this moment,” the Fiorentina coach said.

“Cutrone in the penalty area is very good but at the moment I have chosen Vlahovic. I see he is calm and I wish that he unleashes himself.”
