The 27-year-old has had a disappointing start to the 2020/21 campaign, failing to score a goal or provide an assist in five Serie A matches so far, but his former Palermo teammate was eager to focus on the Juve attacker’s talents than his current dry spell.
“I have heard from him recently,” Vazquez told TuttoMercatoWeb.
“It can be said that it is not a great time for him but we cannot neglect what he has given to Juventus for all these years.
“He has scored many goals, he always does very well, and we must be close to him to make him return to what he was before.”
Vazquez and Dybala starred for Palermo in the 2013/14 Serie B campaign, earning promotion to Serie A, and they starred again in Italy’s top flight, earning the Sicilians a mid-table finish in the following season.
